The cafe has a really unique atmosphere, stepping in feels like entering to the hall of an old house, originally it was a post office building, but operating as a retail place from the ’60s.
They also have a vintage cup collection for sale with most of our favourite childhood cartoon figures (e.g.: Garfield, The Smurfs, Bambi,…) and flower patterned wallpaper to bring more the classical vibes.
Only a few seats are available by the window and on the bench in front of the cafe.
There is a funny note on the wall connected to the name of the coffee shop: ‘A line is a dot that went for a walk.’.

‘Once upon a pour-over, two native Brooklynites longed for the return of the mom & pop shop they remembered as children. The kind of shop that made you feel happy to visit, remembered in your community and could also brew a delicious cup of coffee. Since they couldn’t find one, they decided to create a space in their community themselves!
dot & line was hand built & designed by its founders amber a.k.a. dot (a social worker and entrepreneur with extensive post graduate training & international experience) and bart a.k.a line (a talented artist and entrepreneur with extensive experience in multiple industries) in 2016. Using materials that were lovingly up-cycled from local sources, along with some vintage & modern complimentary additions, the shop was born. dot & line represents a love for authenticity, coffee, community and a mathematical love story (The Dot & The Line by Norton Juster) that inspired those two Brooklynites to create magic together.
